Boys Volleyball adds another 3-0 WThursday, April 26, 2018 WEST HARTFORD - It was another match and another win for the Newington boys volleyball team. The Indians had little, if any, trouble dispatching Hall 3-0 to remain unbeaten in the CCC West Wednesday afternoon. Newington won by set scored of 25-19, 25-23 and 25-16. “It was a good match as we hit the midway point of the season,” Indians head coach Curt Burns said. And as always, Newington finished with a number of strong individual performance. Evan Metzger recorded 27 assists and five digs. Collin Liedke ended his afternoon iwth a team-high 18 digs. Teddy Vravel contributed nine kills and six blocks, while Mason Romano finished with six kills and two blocks. The win sets up Newington with a showdown against rival Southington Monday night. “It will be a match for first place in the CCC West,” Burns said. “It should be a good one and we have a few days to get ready. It’ll be exciting and we’ll be ready to go.”
